Abbott Machine Company has been servicing the metalworking industry for more than 55 years.
Father and son duo, Bill and Bob Abbott, founded Abbott Machine Co in 1965 following Bob's four-year stretch as a member of the United States Air Force. Turning an old power plant into their Alton, IL headquarters, the Abbotts started what would become a leader in machine tool remanufacturing and retrofitting. In 1985, the company added a precision grinding department, facilitating a dire need for area brass and steel manufacturers.
Years later, in 1993, the company expanded to more than 50,000 sq. feet of workspace with the construction of a second building, this one with three overhead bridge cranes that can accommodate more than 30 tons. With satisfied clients all over the globe, the Abbott Machine team continues to deliver excellent engineering and grinding services day in and day out, cementing their legacy as a world leader in metalworking and manufacturing services.
